What is drum programming?

Addictive Drums VST Software
Drum Programming is a process where drum beats are programmed by hand onto a grid that matches the time signature and tempo of the song. This programming is then triggered by a software drum program called Addictive Drums. Addictive Drums features real recorded drum samples that were recorded in million dollar recording studios to ensure the highest quality drum tones! These great sounding drum tones can now be yours with drum programming!

_What makes drum programming so awesome?
Recording great sounding acoustic drums can be a very expensive and time consuming process. In order for an acoustic drum recording to sound great there are many things that are needed...
  • A large room that is acoustically designed for recording drums
  • Many expensive microphones and microphone preamps
  • A great sounding, well taken care of drum kit with new skins and cymbals
  • And most importantly, a very talented drummer!
Unfortunately, studios with the facilities and equipment to record such high quality drum recordings are usually very expensive to record in. But now, thanks to incredible software like Addictive Drums, any solo artist or band, regardless as to whether or not they even have a drummer, can now get a great sounding drum recording for a lot less money! The other great thing about drum programming is that you are free to program any type of beat you can think of! From quick fills, to ghost notes, to tricky hi-hat patterns; anything that can be played on a real drum kit by a real drummer can be programmed by hand!

Still not convinced? Check out these audio demos where all of the drums were created by drum programming with Addictive Drums software!

OK, you convinced me! How much is it?
If you would like to use drum programing it will be programmed during the recording process (in place of recording live drums) and therefore will apply to the same hourly recording rate ($35 per hour) with no extra charge! The audio engineer will work with the Client or the Client's drummer and assist in programing the drum beats during the recording session.

If you do not have a drummer but would like drums on your recording you can hire the studio engineer to compose and program the drum parts for you! The studio engineer charges a small additional free of $15 an hour if he is writing and programming the drum parts for you. Please note that this fee is added onto the standard recording rate ($35 per hour) until the drum composing/programming is finished.
